Ablogistan 2.0 (beta)

I've spent some time recently redesigning and revamping the website. It's still in the works, so please leave comments or e-mail suggestions about the new design. Some of the new features include:

  • New layout. The old design was inconsistent and unorganized, and hopefully the new one will be a little more user-friendly and appealing to the eye.
  • Daily video news feed. The first item in the right-hand column is a video player with world news from the AP, Reuters, and other reputable news sources, provided by The Newsroom. You have to sit through a short ad to watch the news clip, but it was the only player I found that provided constantly-updating videos that I wouldn't have to manually upload. Plus, I get paid a very small fee every time you watch a video.
  • Improved social bookmarking features. I've added ranking buttons for Digg and Reddit to each individual entry page to make it easier to submit and rate each entry. You can also bookmark with del.icio.us or Sumbleupon.
  • Single author. I appreciate the contributions Potter and Alec have made over the last year and a half, but I decided to once again take over sole authorship of the site. You can still visit their previous posts, and I will still accept the occasional guest post.

The main changes are done but I still need to clean up some of the archives and ancillary pages. I'm also not sure if I should add to the header, maybe make a logo or add kicker text. Thoughts?

UPDATE: Turns out there are some bugs when the site is viewed in IE6. It was designed for Firefox and tested with IE7, so I may need to make some adjustments for other browsers.
