Friday Numbers

From a BBC poll of 39,435 people in 33 nations across the globe:

  • 47% said Iran has a negative influence on the world
  • The U.S. is second behind Iran as the most negatively viewed country (specific percentage not given)
  • Europe received the most positive responses, followed by Japan

I'm not surprised by the results, but I am a little surprised at the changes since the last poll. Many European countries view the U.S. more negatively now than they did in 2004. I thought the initial handling of the Iraq war played a large role in the European-American rift, and I expected the negativity to decline as the years passed.
