More numbers

From Zogby International (via Donklephant):

  • 52 percent of American adults think Congress should consider impeaching Bush if he wiretapped U.S. citizens without court approval
  • 59% of Independents are in favor of impeachment
  • 23% of Republicans agree

Honestly, I'm surprised at these numbers. I am not as offended or shocked by the wiretapping scandal as the majority of America, I suppose. It's not that I approve of Bush's actions - I don't - but at this point, it is almost... expected. It just seems like one of many possibly impeachable offenses (if we adhere to the standard that anything worse than lying about oral sex is an impeachable offense). Perhaps this is the straw that will break the camel's back for many Americans, but my camel's back was broken long ago.
